Dear Friends and Colleagues

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is a pleasure to invite you to attend the 6th International Cherry Symposium. The conference will be held from 15th to 19th of November, 2009, in Reñaca, V Region, Chile.

The Symposium is organized under the auspices of the ISHS and Facultad de Agronomía e Ingeniería Forestal, Departamento de Fruticultura y Enología, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC).

The conference will provide the opportunity for scientists, professionals, and students to present their latest findings and discuss their current work related with basic and applied aspects of cherry production. We hope the meeting will promote the exchange of ideas and international cooperation and collaboration among researchers and also with the people related with the cherry industry around the World.

Oral presentations, poster sessions and field tours will provide knowledge to exchange among research groups and will promote scientific dialogues during the conference. Besides, previous to the Symposium, a one day international extension seminar will be held in Curico City (VII Region), the main Chilean sweet cherry production area. This seminar will be focused on different topics of cherry production and postharvest management and will be available for people from the Cherry Industry.

Registration and abstract submission will be accepted on-line through this web site. Besides, the web site will include information about hotel accommodation, pre and post symposium tours, social programmes and other news.

Please mark your calendars now and do not miss this opportunity to know the Chilean Fruit Industry besides the culture and hospitality. It will be a good opportunity to extend your stay in Chile and get the experience of nature from the North to South of our country.

Sincerely yours,

Conveners
